Chris Matthews was joined this week on Hardball by the former head of NARAL*, Kate Michaelman and Politico’s Maggie Haberman to discuss Paul Ryan’s extreme pro-life position along with his support for the enactment of a federal “personhood” law.
Personhood laws are laws designed to extend the legal concept of “personhood” to pre-born humans. Specifically, these laws give legal “personhood” status to any fertilized human egg, from conception until birth (or in the case of Arizona, the clock begins even earlier).
* National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League, is an organization in the United States that engages in political action to oppose restrictions on abortion and expand access to abortion.
