Several fact-check organizations and websites, such as the New York Times to PolitiFact, have refuted Romney’s claims that Obama removed the work requirement from the welfare law and will cut Medicare benefits by $216 billion with the Washington Post giving Romney’s ad “four Pinocchios,” a measure Romney pollster Neil Newhouse dismissed:
“Fact checkers come to this with their own sets of thoughts and beliefs, and we’re not going to let our campaign be dictated by fact checkers.”
