Belief in Climate Change ‘is an Insult to God’

Belief in Climate Change 'is an Insult to God'It’s no great surprise that the Tea Party includes Christians possessing extreme right-wing political beliefs. Within the Tea Party, there are “soldiers for God” who are going out and attempting to overthrow conventional wisdom and science as representatives of God. One such individual is Cal Beisner of the Cornwall Alliance who is the religious right’s favorite anti-climate change “scientist.

Of course, this is in spite of the fact his academic credentials are limited to holding a doctorate in Scottish history.

While appearing on AFA’s “Today’s Issues” radio program earlier this week, Beisner gave the clearest and most concise explanation of why Christians cannot believe in climate change stating that the entire theory rests on the assumption that the earth is an extremely fragile place, which conflicts with the Biblical view that the earth was built by God for man’s use. He goes on to say that therefore, to believe in climate change “really is an insult to God” … and it will eventually lead to tyranny.

A “belief” is wholly a creation of the ego, and has nothing whatsoever to do with God or Truth. Everyone is free to have their ‘beliefs.’ However, everyone is not free to force their ‘beliefs’ on the rest of us on the premise that said ‘beliefs’ are tantamount to, or an accurate reflection of, God/Truth. In fact, one very telling indicator of the falseness of a ‘belief’ is the extent to which the holder of the ‘belief’ feels anointed to force said belief on the rest of us. A realization of Truth is quiet and private and demands no broadcasting whatsoever.
