Weird Thought of the Week
Here’s an interesting thought. What if a 2nd Amendment gun-carryin’ Teabilly brings a gun to church. However the church, exercising its Freedom of Religion does not allow the gun to be brought into the church based upon its belief that guns and gun violence is against its core religious beliefs. The Teabilly, decides his 2nd Amendment right to bear arms is being wrongfully violated by the church’s exercise of its 1st Amendment right to freedom of religion.
The case eventually ends up before the United States Supreme Court. Who wins?
This is, at best, the weird thought of the hour, not the week. Asothers have already said, the church can prohibit guns and that is not a violation of the Second Amendment.
I think this must be a joke, along the lines of “What happens when the irressitible force meets the immovable object?” (The irresistible force is resisted, the immovable object moves, according to Iain Banks.)
If Samuel Warde is seriously asking this question, he has no business writing about constitutional questions or politics until he studies up.
Thanks for the gratuitous rudeness. I would have thought that only a moron wouldn’t get that this is humor. But then again, maybe I still am correct.
Gratuitous rudeness runs rampant on the internet where people who want to be awful but not take responsibility for can hunker behind Mom’s big terminal and snicker evilly at the points they have scored. And whatever is one to do about them? It’s your story? Can’t you delete the moronic judgmental crap and preserve just the humorous input and thoughtful discussion? And don’t you find it interesting that those who assert their superior intelligence can’t find better words to use than common profanity?
