Reverse Robin Hood Fiscal Policies & Regressive Taxes – Oh My

I have to admit I was a bit exasperated when I watched The Rachel Maddow Show tonight….

She had a segment where she highlighted Paul Krugman’s “Makers Takers Fakers” article, in which he says that the GOP have been practicing Reverse Robin Hood fiscal policies. Also, Rachel outlined how regressive sales taxes are.

Here’s why I was exasperated: I’ve been saying those things, and many other truthful things about the 9 Tenets of the Republican Party for the past 18 months! Where have these people been? If you follow me on Twitter or are a Facebook friend of mine, you’d have been able to read all of that for a long time.

Allow me to detail some of the things I’ve been writing about the GOP in the past 18 months, outside of the Reverse Robin Hood fiscal policies and the regressivity of sales taxes (and Flat Taxes, which are essentially the same thing):

Today’s GOP have 9 Tenets (it used to be 8 Cornerstones): bigotry, hypocrisy, elitism, fascism, greed, corruption, incompetence, arrogance and insanity. The last one was the latest addition to the list. Quite frankly, every move the GOP makes has at least one of those tenets behind it, usually more.

There are three factions to the GOP: moderates (good luck finding some), Conservative Wrong-Wing Nut Jobs (“Cons”) and the Tea Party Militia (Extremist and Ignorant Idiots; Teabaggers; Baggers). Nearly every GOP politician in this country, not just in DC, is a Con or a Bagger. GOP moderates are severely underrepresented in the party.

When a GOPer speaks, especially the Cons and Baggers, you hear the following: GOP BS, hypocrisy, talking points, deflections and distortions. Just watch CNN, MSNBC or the Big 3 Network news broadcasts/shows …whenever they have a GOPer on there, that’s pretty much all you hear from them. If you watch the Fascist Dumb Fux “News” Channel, you ONLY hear those five things.

Nearly every GOP politician in this country has signed the Norquist Pledge. Signing that document made them traitors. Signing that document was their signed confession that they don’t give two shits about the Constitution and will, instead, continue the Cons’ effort to overthrow the government financially through “Starve the Beast”. In addition, the GOP are run by and want to establish a fascist corporate plutarchy to replace our democracy after it’s overthrown. Luckily, we were smart enough to not vote Mittens the Liar Rmoney into the White House and GOP supermajorities into the US House and US Senate, otherwise, we’d be on our way to becoming citizens of an FCP. The proof that the GOP want to establish an FCP? Have you noticed that they want to “privatize” everything? Once the government is overthrown, big corporations would take over the former functions of government. Think of the government in the “Robocop” movies, where a big corporation owns and operates the Detroit Police Department. That’s what an FCP looks like.

In December 2011, Bill Maher made the following statement on his show, “Real Time”: “Democrats have moved to the right and the right has moved into the mental hospital.” Today’s Democrats are yesterday’s moderate GOP. However, millions of moderate GOP don’t realize this because they voted for Cons and Baggers back in November, allowing the GOP to keep control of the US House and enough seats in the US Senate to continue the party’s childish overuse of the filibuster. If GOP moderates would have done the correct thing, the GOP’s pathetic gerrymandering of US House and state legislative districts would have failed miserably. While the 2010 Bagger wave is the fault of the Democrats who didn’t vote, the GOP’s continued power across the country is the fault of GOP moderates in 2012. You can thank your local GOP moderate friends for the mess in DC right now.

Finally, the newest realization: you recall how the GOP that control state legislatures and Governor’s offices have passed and signed all kinds of corrupt bills into law, like the anti-abortion bills? There was an ulterior motive behind that. The motive is kinda ingenious in its simplicity and corruption. Those bills were passed knowing that there’d be legal challenges to them. Eventually, the high-profile bills get into the court system and reach the Supreme Court. The GOP knows full well that their anti-abortion bills will reach the SCOTUS. Once there, they hope that the Feckless Five (4 Cons and “moderate” Kennedy) will overturn Roe v. Wade and ban abortion. However, that part of the plan didn’t work out too well as we were smart enough not to vote Mittens into the White House. He’d have nominated Con justices to the SCOTUS, justices that’d be more likely to overturn Roe v. Wade. In fact, several other legislative priorities became law so that they’d be challenged to the SCOTUS, where the Feckless Five could legalize it. For example: the Patriot Act, Military Detention of “Enemy Combatants and “Extrajudicial Rendition” (“Kill List” and executions via drone strikes outside of the US).

If you didn’t know all of that already, now you do. As Samuel L. Jackson said in a YouTube video before the elections, “wake the FUCK up, people!”
