Ashley Judd has made no formal announcement to run against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in 2014, yet the mere idea of it is apparently freaking Karl Rove and Mitch McConnell out.
Rove’s Super PAC, American Crossroads, is so concerned that Judd will throw her hat in the political ring and run, they have already launched an attack ad. Watch for the twinkle in Obama’s eye, it’s a nice touch.
She’s a southern, “Hollywood Liberal” with beauty and brains. The GOP’s worst nightmare.
The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell reports:
“A recent poll found only 17% of registered voters in Kentucky would support Mitch McConnell in 2014, including only 34% of Republicans. Thirty-four percent of voters plan to oppose him, 44% want to see their other options, and 6% remain unsure. Kentucky Democrats continue to search for a viable contender and believe that a campaign led by the actress may be even harmful to the party.”
Judd ‘s publicist replied to the ad, “Ashley thanks Senator McConnell, Karl Rove, and their negative allies for all the attention as she considers her future political plans, although a decision hasn’t been made yet.”
