MSNBC’s Chris Matthews lashed out at Ted Cruz Monday night noting that “Senator Ted Cruz doesn’t think he’s hurting the Republican brand, but many Republicans might beg to differ.”
Matthews began the discussion with TheGrio.com’s Joy Reid and the Huffington Post’s Sam Stein noting:
“This is a new mode of communication, Sam, sort of whining aggressively. I’ve never heard a man, or a woman, talk with such a whine in their voice with a kind of moral indignation. You notice how he (Cruz) closes his eyes and his eyebrows come down every time he expresses himself. He shakes his head back and forth out of just disappointment with how people are talking. They don’t quite get it. And it’s like the child that isn’t getting as many cookies as his brother or sister, looking the the parent saying ‘how come you gave her more cookies than me.’ That look of moral indignation is so total with this guy. He is so hurt. He’s hurt because he did not get to shut down Obamacare. He’s hurt.”
