Dashcam Video Shows Bravery of Cop Shot in Face

New dashcam footage shows a dramatic police chase in Stafford, Texas, when a cop stayed in pursuit of the suspects for 20 miles even though she’d been shot in the face and chest.

As reported by the Daily News, Ann Carrizales of the Stafford Police Department was shot  during a routine traffic stop outside Houston.

The violence erupted early Saturday, when the officer — a married mother of two and a former U.S. Marine — pulled a car over outside Houston, police said.

But as the cop walked up to the driver’s side window, a man in the front passenger seat pulled out a handgun and opened fire — striking Carrizales in the left cheek and in her bullet-resistant vest.

Carrizales went on to chase the suspect, 21-year-old Sergio Francisco Rodriguez, for about 20 miles before he was eventually arrested by other officers assisting in the pursuit.

“They’re bad guys,” she told ABC News in the clip below. “They were not going to leave my city and do that to someone else.”
