Obama Slams ‘Least Productive Congress In Modern History’

Obama

President Obama criticized what he called “the least productive Congress in modern history” while speaking at a private fund-raising event.

As reported by Reuters, the event was held at the “luxurious Houston home of trial lawyer John Eddie Williams” with about 60 contributors in attendance.

“The event raised money for both the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Tickets for the event ranged between $16,200 and $64,800.”

The President slammed Republicans for blocking a bill in the Senate aimed at creating fair pay for women, for refusing to raise minimum wage, and for refusing to overhaul immigration.

Using those items as examples of GOP led obstruction in Congress, the President stated:

“This has become the least productive Congress in modern history, recent memory. And that’s by objective measures – just basic activity.”
