Russell Brand Destroys Everything We’re Being Told (VIDEO)

Russell-Brand

Being in the spotlight is nothing new to Russell Brand these days.

There is the time he embarrassed his Hugo boss over his Nazi past. Who can forget the time he interviewed two members of the Westboro Baptist Church / Hate Group.  Late last year Brand told BBC Newsnight’s Jeremy Paxman that he has never voted, and he never will.  There is also the time Fox News has lashed out at Brand.

However, there is another deeper more spiritual side to Russell Brand. Brand has spent much of the last couple of years speaking a message of spiritual consciousness and love.

Watch The Time The Dalai Lama Upstaged Russell BrandYou might recall the Dalai Lama got the biggest laughs as he upstaged Brand at the start of the youth event “Stand Up and Be the Change” in Manchester, England, on June 16, 2012. As BBC News reported at the time, The Dalai Lama’s representatives chose Brand to introduce the Dalai Lama “because he had proved ‘the power of spirituality to effect change in his own life.’”

The following short report of the event was published later that day on the Dalai Lama’s official website:

His Holiness began,

“I don’t like formality, so Russell Brand, who is also very informal, was a fitting person to introduce me; thank you. Birth takes place without formality, as does death. If I think of myself as a Buddhist monk or as a Tibetan, that sets up a sort of barrier between me and others. In fact, I am a human being like you, who wants happiness and doesn’t want to face suffering and problems. I speak to you as just one of the 7 billion human beings in the world today. Physically, mentally and emotionally we’re the same; and we have the same potential for good as well as for bad.”

As The Mind Unleashed reports,

Russell Brand has recently burst onto the activist and consciousness scene with his interview on BBC a few months ago. Since then, he has been speaking out against many of the injustices that have been plaguing the world from wealth inequality to political corruption.

Many people who are pop-culture followers have little-to-no knowledge about the many problems the world faces; which is why it’s so important for celebrities to leave the dark side and help us make the world a better place. From Matt Damon to Rob Schneider, these celebrities help us reach new audiences with the message of truth and freedom and for that, we thank them.  It’s cool to see mainstream celebrities use the platforms they have been given to awaken the minds of humanity.

You can watch a great video montage of some of Brands finer moments talking about the problems facing the world.
