Liberals Unite Is Looking For Writers!

Liberals Unite is seeking a few great staff writers to cover current events. The focus is politics, economics and feminism with the occasional opinion/open letter/editorial.

We encourage folks with snark and sarcasm (not mean-spirited) to apply, but we are also interested in straight-forward reporting. The ideal is a good mix of both.

LU owns and operates several large FB pages and has good trading relationships with many others. This means articles have the potential to be seen by hundreds of thousands of readers.

MUST HAVES:

Liberal/progressive ideology.
A good command of the English language.
Basic understanding of grammar.
Someone who is willing to write 5 – 15 articles per week.

PREFERRABLE (but this is negotiable):

A basic understanding of WordPress.
Blogging experience.
A personal following on Facebook of 5,000 or more. This includes personal profiles as well as public “like” pages.
Administrator for public political pages or groups on Facebook.
Active on Twitter, Tumblr and Google Plus.

HOW TO APPLY:

If you are serious about joining the LU team, please send three writing samples in a message to the Liberals Unite Facebook page. Links to blog posts are preferred, please DO NOT send attachments. Copy and paste the text directly into the message box.

We will review all applicants and will be in touch with writers we are interested in. We anticipate a rather large response and assume there will be many great writers who may not be chosen – in that case, we will keep your work and your name on file for when new positions open up.
