Special Olympian Gives Obama Hug During Speech – VIDEO

Obama-Hug

On Thursday, President Obama gave a speech during the White House tribute to the Special Olympics and received a hug from a remarkable man.

While highlighting Special Olympians who compete and are active in their communities, Obama mentioned the name of Tim Harris. The president talked about some of Harris’ noteworthy achievements.

Obama told the audience he is a Special Olympian in hockey, volleyball, basketball, golf, and track and field. He also pointed out Harris owns an Albuquerque restaurant called Tim’s Place and that he makes sure to give a hug to all of his customers.

Obama asked the crowd which one was Tim and suddenly he found the enthusiastic Olympian. The president made it very clear he didn’t want to be left out in the hug department.

At that point Harris walked up on stage and said ‘I love you, Obama’ before firmly wrapping his arms around the president. To that, Obama replied “I love you back. You know, Presidents need some encouragement once in a while, too. That felt really good. That was nice. Thank you, Tim.”
