McConnell Looking Like A Buffoon - Rants About 'Nixonian' Wiretaps And His Wife's Ethnicity (VIDEO)

With the election uncertain in Kentucky, we thought now would be a good tome to look back at Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell looking like a complete buffoon during a press conference back in in April of 2013, either as the result of a failed hearing aid (as I was thinking since he repeated himself nearly word-for-word 3 times) or as a rather poorly executed attempt to dodge questions.

At the time, McConnell was being questioned by reporters about his campaign’s plans to attack Ashley Judd as revealed earlier in the day in a report by Mother Jones. In response, McConnell began repeating accusations about “Nixonian” wiretaps and whimpering about some leftist conspiracy regarding his wife’s ethnicity.

The question at issue centers around a secret recording from February of McConnell and his aides discussing how they can attack actor Ashley Judd who was considered a potential 2014 challenger to McConnell at the time the recording was made. The tape raises serious ethics questions for McConnell and his staff as Senate ethics rules prohibit Senate employees from participating in any political activities while on the clock, or otherwise receiving government compensation.

As reported by Mother Jones, “the tape indicates that several of McConnell’s legislative aides, whose salaries are paid by the taxpayer, were involved with producing the opposition research on Judd that was discussed at the February 2 meeting.”

You can watch a video of the embarrassing affair below and please note that the assessment that his hearing aid was to blame is conjecture on the part of myself. However, it could actually be worse – he might really think that people are fooled by his line of B.S.
