Liberals And Conservatives Battling It Out On Facebook

In the wake of the midterm election results, liberals and conservatives are battling it out over politics and the aims of the not-yet-sworn-in 114th Congress.

This particular argument is happening live on John Boehner’s profile.

We will begin by posting the content Boehner’s post, where the festivities first began.

Looking ahead to the next Congress, we will honor the voters’ trust by focusing, first, on jobs and the economy. Among other things, that means a renewed effort to debate and vote on the many bills that passed the Republican-led House in recent years with bipartisan support, but were never even brought to a vote by the Democratic Senate majority. It also means renewing our commitment to repeal ObamaCare, which is hurting the job market along with Americans’ health care.

David H Sandy I assume you are 100% native American. My family was illegal immigrants 400 years ago and we did ok. Also, millions are now covered by health care. What is your proposal, just say screw them?

James S You jackasses can debate opinions, but you cannot debate facts, and the FACT is that more illegals have been deported under Obama than Bush. We need immigration reform. There were also more attacks on U.S. Embassies under Bush. And Bush has passed twice as many executive orders.

You’re also going to be screwed if Republicans raise the “full time” threshold back to 40. That will result in people working 39 hours, which is about full time, without having health insurance. So you’ll be working a full schedule, you’ll be restricted to 40 hours, and your employer won’t have to give you health insurance. That’s not a win for you, that’s a win for your employer. First of all, the FACTS again show that people’s hours nationwide working over 30 hours actually went up from 80.2% to 80.7%, not down. Yes, a handful of Subway workers at a few stores with greedy owners pushed them under 30 hours, but the vast majority did not. Furthermore, with a 30 hour threshold, if you were working 39hours/week, you’re employer may as well let you work more, since they have to cover your insurance either way at the point. You see, the 30 hour threshold made a clear distinction between part-time and full-time work, and created an incentive/barrier so that you were either part time without insurance, or full time with insurance. Instead, you guys voted to take us a step back and reinstate the practice of working all fucking day, NOT getting insurance, and NOT being able to go over 40 hours. You fucked yourself, once again. Have fun with tax breaks for rich again, education cuts, helping to keep you stupid, poor, desperate, and willing to take whatever they’re willing to give you, from the party who thinks the minimum wage should be abolished.

You wanted to “stop Obama”? Why? Because Fox News told you he was gonna take all your guns and kill babies? wtf? He reduced the deficit by a trillion dollars, cut it in half as a percentage of GDP. Again, FACTS. He helped millions of people gain health insurance and eliminated the practice of denying people coverage based on pre-existing conditions (some of you don’t even realize Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act are the same thing; it’s a nickname). He passed credit card reform in 2009 to protect your asses from late fees and changing due dates, among other things. The list goes on and on and on. This is going to be fun to watch the GOP unravel going into 2016, now that they have to put their name on bills for all to see; they can no longer just sit idly by and block others’ proposals…. like they’ve sat on the Immigration Reform bill the Senate passed well over a year ago.

Panama B James S, you are an idiot sir. You apparently are a democrat and support Obama. Your points using numbers on certain issues shows only the old saying figures lie, and liars figure. Obama has done more to sabotage the Constitution than all the presidents before him. His executive orders are more than clarification to law passed by Congress, they are wholesale writs, ignoring the legislative branch. People like you may someday get what you want, and are actually pretty close to now, A dictator that will give you what you want, the Constitution and one half of the electorate be damned.

Jay B There will be no repeal of Obamacare…guaranteed…neither John nor Mitch even want that fight…they just keep you thinking it because they needed your naive vote. They will make a show of trying knowing they can’t do it…Obama will VETO…simple…VETO…they cannot do it…period. So…if that was the main thing you voted for…well…you lost.

Ray G 1) Immigration reform is long overdue.
2) Far more people were crossing the boarder illegally during the 8 years Bush ll was Gov of Texas and during his 8 years of illegally occupying the White House than have done so since. Suddenly it’s a problem…….?
3) We need EMPLOYER reform. Like jail time for anyone who hires undocumented workers.
4) Do you people have any idea what it would cost to build this wall? What it really means is a fat contract for one of the sacred cows.
Bottom line is grow up and deal with reality. Quit acting like spoiled two year olds fighting over a cookie.
