Cleveland authorities have released new extended surveillance footage “showing the 14-year-old sister of Tamir Rice being forced to the ground and handcuffed moments after the 12-year-old boy was fatally shot by Cleveland police,” as reported by NBC News.
NBC adds:
After handcuffing the girl, an officer can be seen escorting her to the back of a police cruiser with her brother lying mortally wounded steps away. At that point, additional police arrive at the recreation center playground. The Rice family has previously said Tamir’s sister was handcuffed during the incident.
Cleveland.com reported that a family attorney for the Rice’s says the video is “shocking and outrageous” adding that the footage released by police “shows in crystal-clear HD that the responding officers acted inappropriately and recklessly,” adding that the Rice family is “outraged.”
