Republican Establishment Plan To Unleash Campaign To ‘Take Down’ Donald Trump – VIDEO

Dump-Trump

Reports are circulating that the mainstream Republican Party establishment is set to unleash a massive blitz of commercials designed to take out Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump.

CNN’s Maeve Reston noted on Sunday that most GOP strategists see risks in having the attacks being launched by other candidates or their affiliated super PACs. So, she reports, there is conversation about what other group might raise money for anti-Trump TV ads.

Speaking to her network colleague John King, Reston noted that there is conversation within the Republican establishment over what groups should raise the money for the anti-Trump ads, stating that: “The hottest conversation that’s going on right now in the donor community among the anti-Trump donors, is how do you take down Donald Trump, and what’s the vehicle to do it.”

Reston added that:

There are a lot of donors out there who see it as much too dangerous, obviously, for the candidates, or their allied super PACs, to go after Trump. So they’re looking to more establishment PACs to potentially take him down in post-Labor Day ads.

Conservative radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh weighed in on the CNN report on Monday, agreeing with Reston’s assertion that the “Republican establishment,” itself, won’t be leading the charge against Trump.

Limbaugh explained to his listeners that:

Now, they aren’t gonna do it with their fingerprints on it.  They are looking for PACs that have no ties to current Republican candidates.  They don’t want any fingerprints of the party directly on whatever this smear of Trump is going to be.
