WATCH: John McCain Grilled Mercilessly After Blaming Orlando Shootings On Obama (VIDEO)

Sen. John McCain held “directly responsible” for putting his foot in his mouth.

On Thursday afternoon, GOP Senator John McCain claimed President Barack Obama is “directly responsible” for last Sunday’s deadly shooting at a gay club in Orlando. AP reports:

Republican Sen. John McCain said Thursday that President Barack Obama is “directly responsible” for the mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, because Obama has allowed the growth of the Islamic State group on his watch.

McCain, who lost to Obama in the 2008 presidential election, made the comment to reporters Thursday while Obama was in Orlando visiting with the families of those killed in Sunday’s attack and some of the survivors.

John McCain is not the first Republican to put the blame on Barack Obama instead of on their support of anti-gay bigotry and deadly gun policies or on Omar Mateen, the guy who actually did the shooting.

AP adds that Donald Trump has been sounding the alarms for days:

Donald Trump has accused Obama of putting U.S. enemies ahead of American’s own people. Trump also has suggested that Obama himself might sympathize with radical elements.

We wrote earlier that Tony Perkins from the Family Research Council (FRC) also laid the blame on Barack Obama during his vile Monday radio show. The FRC is a right-wing, anti-gay hate group, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

The mainstream media often lets our nation’s leaders get away with this kind of misinformation, but not this time. When the man “directly responsible” for Sarah Palin started backpedaling on his claim that Barack Obama is “directly responsible” for the Orlando shootings, NBC’s Hallie Jackson wasn’t having it.

She buttonholed him and then proceeded to grill him within an inch of his life.

Hallie Jackson: “I want to be clear. Are you backtracking on your statement that he [Barack Obama] is ‘directly responsible?'”

John McCain: “I was saying that the President of the United States’ actions — actions — were responsible because of the full withdrawal of troops from Iraq, which led into al Qaeda going into Syria and extending their bases. His failure to have a strategy to destroy ISIS has led to the attacks on the United States of America and Europe.”
