The world reacts to Trump’s victory with shock, scorn and mockery.

NBC News reports that front pages of newspapers from around the world reflect “disbelief, horror and downright mockery” at Donald Trump’s victory, that if Thursday’s papers are a “barometer of public opinion then America’s president elect has bridges to build.”

Reaction across Europe varied with France’s Liberation simply stating “American Psycho.”

Le Figaro, also of France, summed up the election with their simple headline: “Hurricane.”

British current affairs and politics newspaper, New Statesman, was headlined “The Trump apocalypse” and subtitled: “How his populist revolt threatens the world order.”

British newspaper The Daily Mirror showed the Statue of Liberty weeping with the headline: “It’s President Trump… What have they done?”

German newspaper BZ was headlined: “The Night the West Died.”

And the headline of Germany’s Die Welt read: “The World is Upside Down.”

The New Zealand Herald was headlined: “Dear America… No You Can’t!”

Three articles were also featured on the cover: “Clinton is not without flaws, but they are eclipsed by the baleful shadow which Donald Trump has cast,” “A test of our time,” and “A day of chaos looms.”

The Philippine Star was headlined: “OMG It’s Trump.”

Back in North America, Canada’s Le Journal de Quebec simply stated: “Oh my God!”
