Donald Trump’s Deplorables Have Already Started To Terrorize America

Racists, bigots, misogynists, and homophobes have been given a license to be deplorable and they aren’t holding back.

“Let’s put this behind us,” is coming out of nearly every pro-Trump talking head on cable news today when asked about the possible repercussions of what Trump said during the campaign.

As if it wasn’t bad enough that the American people elected him, now we’re being asked to forget everything he said while he was running. Some elected him because of what he said and others in spite of what he said, and it’s the ones who elected him because of what he said that we need to be worried about. It’s been said that Donald Trump’s campaign — and now his presidency — opened the door to racism, misogyny, and bigotry.

An ideology that was until now an undercurrent of vile sewage in this country has now been given permission to flourish, and flourish it has.

Shaun King, Senior Justice Writer “Daily News” has been collecting stories from people around the country who have seen or experienced firsthand what Donald Trump’s rhetoric and vitriol has inspired now that he’s won.

Women, Muslims, Latinos, and members of the LGBTQ community have been assaulted, attacked, accosted, and made to fear for their lives.

There are hundreds of stories coming in at a frantic pace, and they are horrifying. It’s as if the floodgates have been opened, and heretofore closeted racists and bigots have been given a pass – and they’re not even hiding behind cute anonymous names.

This is what day one of a country under President Trump looks like, and we’re still months away from him taking office:

Hang on folks, it’s going to be a long four years.
