Angry protesters stormed the building where Trump is holed up with his transition team.

On Thursday protesters stormed the General Services Administration in Washington, D.C., where the Trump White House transition team has been meeting, to voice their opposition to Trump’s appointment of white supremacist Steve Bannon for the role of chief White House strategist.

The protesters crowded the lobby, waved signs and chanted “Fire Bannon,” and “Jewish resistance.”

Steve Bannon is the executive chairman for Breitbart news – an alt-right (white supremacist) political website known for it’s outwardly racist, misogynist, anti-Semitic narrative.

It’s important to note that the appointment of Bannon goes against the traditional rules governing in America. Thirty years ago Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) was denied a federal judgeship for racist comments.

From CNN:

“The Senate Judiciary Committee heard testimony during hearings in March and May 1986, that Sessions had made racist remarks and called the NAACP and ACLU ‘un-American.’

“Thomas Figures, a black assistant US attorney who worked for Sessions, testified that Sessions called him “boy” on multiple occasions and joked about the Ku Klux Klan, saying that he thought Klan members were ‘OK, until he learned that they smoked marijuana.'”

Trump wants to change our traditional, time-honored rules of governing. It’s up to the American people and influential government officials to stop Trump from appointing Bannon.
