Tom Cotton Confronted By Woman With Dying Husband – Video

Tom Cotton confronted by angry crowd at town hall in his home state of Arkansas. Woman with dying husband asks: “What kind of insurance do you have?”

Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas was confronted by a crowd of angry constituents Wednesday night at a fiery town hall meeting.

As CNN reports, “The event took place at Springdale High School in northwest Arkansas, a pocket of relatively liberal voters in the red state. The venue was at capacity — police said it held 2,000 people — and the audience routinely screamed at the senator throughout the event.”

One woman whose husband is dying confronted Cotton about his support for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare.

She shouted at Cotton that her husband was dying of “dementia and Alzheimer’s and multiple other things.

“And you want to stand there with him at home, expect us to be calm, cool, and collected? Well, what kind of insurance do you have?” she continued as the crowd roared and jumped to their feet.

As The Hill reports, “Another woman chided Cotton for allegedly sending her the same letter over and over when she tried to get a hold of him.”

“I have sent you one message after the other, sir, about our family,” she said, adding: “I live just down the road a few places from your office, and I have invited you into our home, and not a word, except a classic, regular letter sent.”

Vox reports that “at one point another attendee asked members of the audience to stand up if they were affected by Obamacare,” and  nearly everyone in the audience stood up.

On Tuesday, Trump tweeted that “The so-called angry crowds in home districts of some Republicans are actually, in numerous cases, planned out by liberal activists. Sad!”

However, as The Hill reports, “some demonstrators at the town hall carried signs asserting that they were not professional protesters,” refuting that claim.

As The Hill concluded: “Republican lawmakers have been facing waves of opposition at town hall meetings in recent weeks, as many constituents displeased with Trump and the GOP’s agenda flock to reach their senators and representatives.”
