Growing Number Of Republicans Demanding Sessions Recuse Himself

After the news broke that Attorney General Jeff Sessions apparently perjured himself regarding his communication with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak (also a Trump appointee), a growing number of Republicans and Democrats are either calling for Sessions to recuse himself from the investigation regarding Russian interference of the 2016 presidential election, or to resign altogether.

The Washington Post reported that House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, tweeted, “AG Sessions should clarify his testimony and recuse himself.”

The Post added, Republican Ohio Senator Rob Portman, said in a statement, “Jeff Sessions is a former colleague and a friend, but I think it would be best for him and for the country to recuse himself from the DOJ Russia probe.”
