Trump fills the Twitter waves with more lies and distortions – falsely comparing himself with Obama along the way.
Trump, the Commander in Tweet, could not leave Father’s Day alone without sending out more lies. You would think a man who had 5 kids with 3 different women would want to at least spend some time with some of them. But no, the lure of Twitter was too strong. Not only did Trump tweet himself into craziness, he managed to humiliate himself while doing it. Twitter users were merciless with their tweeted answers.
So today’s lies consisted of Trump insisting that he was more popular than Obama. Hmm, no, sorry, you are wrong Mr. Trump. He cited right wing pollster Rasmussen as giving him a 50% approval rating, while no other pollster came close. Project 538 gives Trump a popularity average more like 38% and a disapproval rating around 55%. Not such great numbers for a guy who has been president for less than 6 months. Obama on the other hand had an approval rating of 59% during the same time period when he was president. Maybe Trump is dyslexic and got the numbers backwards.
Aside from insisting he is the most popular guy around he also had to tweet “”Many new jobs, high business enthusiasm, massive regulation cuts, 36 new legislative bills signed, great new S.C.Justice, and Infrastructure, Healthcare and Tax Cuts in works!” Excuse me, but 36 new legislative bills? Healthcare? It is amazing. Doesn’t he remember his healthcare plans keep getting shot down. The end of April Trump had insisted he had signed 26 bills, NPR wanted to know what they were.
This goes hand in hand with his freaky cabinet meeting where the Washington Post reported that Trump said, ‘“I will say that never has there been a president — with few exceptions; in the case of [Franklin D. Roosevelt], he had a major depression to handle — who’s passed more legislation, who’s done more things than what we’ve done,” Trump said, “between the executive orders and the job-killing regulations that have been terminated. Many bills; I guess over 34 bills that Congress signed.” Let’s see: last week it was over 34 bills, and Sunday morning it was 36 bills. Guess lawmakers were super busy.
Unbelievable that Trump thinks he has done more than Roosevelt and is more popular than Obama. What is this guy thinking? Does he really believe his own B.S.? I can’t believe he could mix numbers up that badly. Or does he think that by tweeting enough lies, people will actually believe them? You can see the whole Twitter feed here.
This kind of lying or delusion would be sad if it were your Grandfather or the next door neighbor, but it isn’t. It is the President of the United States — which makes it scary.
