Senator Bryce Marlatt stands accused of grabbing and kissing an Uber driver.

Senator Bryce Marlatt, Republican State Senator from Woodward Oklahoma is accused of assaulting his Uber driver last month while she was driving him to a hotel. Fox News reported that Bryce forcefully grabbed the woman and started to kiss her neck.

The woman approached a police officer on June 28, saying she had been assaulted on Monday night and was “unsure what she needed to do,” the report states. She told police that she had picked up Marlatt at 10:00 pm. She dropped him off at 10:36 pm at a hotel and then went to a bar. Using the information she had on him, she was able to identify him, and show his picture to police.

Marlatt has not been arrested and investigators are still looking into the case. News station KFOR reported that Marlatt’s attorney says that the senator is ‘shocked’ and has asked him to work with Uber to find out what happened.

Uber spokesperson Kayla Whaling sent KFOR this statement:

“What’s been reported is not tolerated and has no place on the Uber app. We are committed to the safety and security of all our partner drivers and riders and are working with the Oklahoma City Police Department to provide them any information that would be helpful for their active investigation.”
