Defiant, Cher Unleashes Twitter Tirade On ‘Complete Coward’ Trump – Vows To Protect Dreamers

Cher urged her three million-plus Twitter fans to join her in protecting Dreamers from the Trump regime.

Iconic singer and actress Cher took to twitter to express her disgust at Trump’s decision to reverse DACA, the Obama-era  program that granted temporary legal status to people who illegally entered the U.S. with their parents as children.

As CNN reports, “Since the Obama administration began DACA in 2012, 787,580 people have been approved for the program, according to the latest government figures.” Participants in the program are often referred to as “Dreamers.”

Attorney General Jeff Sessions made the official announcement on Tuesday, although Trump campaigned in large part on ending the DACA, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

“I’m here today to announce that the program known as DACA that was effectuated by the Obama administration is being rescinded,” Sessions told reporters during a press conference at the Department of Justice.

It didn’t take long for the iconic pop star Cher to turn to her Twitter account, urging her fans and other celebrities to open their homes and offer protection to Dreamers.

“Those Who Can Must Take a DREAMER In2 Their Home & Protect Them,” Cher tweeted, adding: “I’m Ready 2 Do This & Others in MY BUSINESS WILL DO THE SAME. SANCTUARY.”

The posted another tweet shortly afterwards calling Trump a “complete coward” for not making the official announcement himself on national television.

“[America] HAS BEEN OUR DREAMERS ONLY HOME HOW CAN WE THROW THEM INTO THE WILDERNESS. TRUMP IS COMPLETE COWARD, WHY DIDNT HE END DACA’HIMSELF’ON [television icon]. “

Cher followed up with series of additional tweets throughout the night supporting Dreamers.

“WHEN GOP LISTS ALL ATTRIBUTES A PERSON MUST HAVE 2 LIVE IN USA,CHECK EVERY BOX 4 DREAMERS, ‘CAUSE THEY’RE ALREADY ROCK’N THE AMERICAN DREAM“

“A GREAT friend, man born in MEXICO, hitched alone to the USA as a teen, no English. He grew up to become friends with Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Frank Sinatra, etc. He’s an AMAZING MAN.” [edited for clarity]

In her final tweet of the series, Cher suggest the USA “kick Trump out” instead of Dreamers:

Cher made a similar claim about Trump’s connection to tyrants during an August 2016 fundraising event for Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Cher gave a speech an introductory speech at the event and towards the end she called Trump a “consummate liar” and an “insane and sociopathic narcissist” before introducing Clinton .

“I was thinking all the despots, you know, Stalin, Hitler, but then I thought, even though they said the same things – ‘we’re going to make Germany great again’ –and it was at a time when the Deutsche Mark I think was 25 cents,” she told the crowd, adding “and also, like, look at Brexit. These people just screw[ed] themselves so badly because they were angry and they didn’t think it could get worse.”

“So anyway, I just wish he’d fall off the face of the earth,” she added.
