Is Alec Baldwin Going To Run For President? Check Out His Friday Night Tweet

Alec Baldwin

Known for his hilarious Trump lampoons on Saturday Night Live, Alec Trump teases the idea of a presidential run.

Alec Baldwin’s acting career has spanned nearly the better part of four decades so far, but he is best known these days for his leading role in the resistance movement, mocking Trump on the ever popular Saturday Night Live cold opens.

As Liberals Unite contributor Whatever Jones wrote last week, “Not only is his portrayal of the orange menace hilarious, it frustrates the living sh*t out of Trump and that, in and of itself, is a beautiful thing.”

Friday night, Baldwin was back at it – this time on the Twitter account for the Hilaria and Alec Baldwin Foundation – teasing the idea of a presidential run.

“If I run for a [sic] President, think of how entertaining the debates would be,” Baldwin tweeted.

Baldwin followed up minutes later with another tweet clearly aimed at Trump.

“Some people have long fantasized about going back in time and killing Hitler. Is Hitler here among us again now? What awaits him?” he tweeted.

These tweets echo an entertaining interview with GQ in which Baldwin stated he believes Trump’s days are numbered:

I think the powers that be, the money behind the Republican party, they’ll have to get the smell out of the room so that Pence can be the runner in 2020. And the sooner they get rid of him the better. How much more are they going to put up with? I don’t think they’ll put up with much more… I imagine he’ll resign.

Baldwin went on to say:

I imagine they’ll cite health problems. There might be things that would present themselves so he’d be forced to. And I’m not just talking about tapes with hookers… Putin is surrounded by a team of people who are ten moves ahead of everybody. If Trump fucks them, they will just burn him to the ground. It’d kill him.

Baldwin also echoed the thoughts of millions of people in America when he stated:

I don’t hate him. I mean, the longer he’s in office the more unhappy I am. It just makes it harder. It doesn’t make it impossible… It’s not like I have to take a shower or something.

He also said what has been on the minds of many:

Now, I am by no means comparing Trump to Hitler, I would never do that… What you see with Trump is how Hitler got elected. Someone who will say anything to people because of their economic interest.
