As if things aren’t bad enough with the Roy Moore accusations, this tweet about Trump dating girls younger than his daughter resurfaces.
Controversy escalated today regarding allegations of sexual misconduct by Alabama’s Republican candidate for the US Senate, Roy Moore.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) set off a war of words early Monday when he told reporters that Moore should step down from the campaign, adding that he believed the women making the accusations.
Shortly after McConnell’s remarks, Moore tweeted: “The person who should step aside is @SenateMajLdr Mitch McConnell. He has failed conservatives and must be replaced. #DrainTheSwamp.”
Then there was the explosive Monday afternoon news conference by another woman who came forward to accuse Roy Moore of assaulting her when she was a teenager.
- Beverly Young Nelson said that Roy Moore sexually assaulted her when she was 16 years old, making her the fifth woman to publicly accuse Moore of initiating a sexual or romantic relationship with her as a teenager.
- Nelson said that Moore assaulted her, injuring her, in his car in the parking lot of a Alabama restaurant that she worked at, and he frequented, in the late 1970s.
- Nelson, who voted for President Donald Trump, said that her accusations “have nothing to do with the Republicans or the Democrats.”
As CNN reported Monday afternoon – Trump, who is popular in Alabama, has had little to say about the Moore accusations.
“I’ve been with you folks so I haven’t gotten to see too much,” Trump said when asked about the allegations against Moore during a weekend press conference. “And believe it or not even when I am in Washington and New York I do not watch much television. I know they like to say, people that don’t know me like to say I watch television.”
Pressured to address the allegations, Trump added: “Honestly, I’d have to look at it and I have to see because again I am dealing with the President of China, the President of Russia. I am dealing with the folks over here so I haven’t devoted, I haven’t been able to devote very much time to it.”
However, in the midst of all the drama surrounding the Moore accusations – an extremely awkward 2013 tweet by Trump has resurfaced in which he appears to be bragging about the “talent” behind his ability to date women younger than his daughter.

Then there’s the 1992 tape aired by CBS News in 2016 revealing Trump looking at a group of young girls and remarking that he will be dating one of them in ten years. Trump would have been 46-years-old at the time.
In the clip, Trump can be heard asking one of the girls: “You going up the escalator?” Trump can be heard saying. “Yeah,” the voice of a young girl replies. “I am going to be dating her in 10 years. Can you believe it?” Trump can then be heard on the tape remarking to someone off camera.
In 2006 Trump made a similar remark about his own daughter, Ivanka. CBS News reported in a separate article last year that “during a March 2006 appearance on ‘The View’ with his daughter Ivanka, Donald Trump was asked how he would react if Playboy magazine were to ever feature Ivanka’s picture on its cover.”
Trump responded: “I don’t think Ivanka would do that inside the magazine. Although she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said that if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I would be dating her.”
Then there were the allegations that Trump walked in on Miss Teen USA beauty pageant contestants as they were changing in their dressing rooms. And that news came in the wake of revelations by CNN that Trump had bragged to Howard Stern about walking in on contestants as the owner of the Miss USA pageant.
“I’ll go backstage before a show, and everyone’s getting dressed and ready and everything else. And you know, no men are anywhere. And I’m allowed to go in because I’m the owner of the pageant. And therefore I’m inspecting it,” he told Stern, adding: “Is everyone okay? You know they’re standing there with no clothes. And you see these incredible looking women. And so I sort of get away with things like that.”
