Panicked Republicans Now Comparing FBI To KGB As Mueller Closes In On Russia Probe

In an appearance on Hannity, Fox News analyst Gregg Jarrett made a number of startling and outrageous claims about Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his investigation into the Trump campaign’s connections to Russia during the 2016 election season.

In a bold attempt to discredit Mueller, who is a highly regarded Republican and Vietnam veteran, Jarrett criticized the investigation, telling Hannity, “I think we now know that the Mueller investigation is illegitimate and corrupt.”

Jarrett is basing his assertion on the news that one of the agents working on the Mueller probe was fired – by Mueller – last summer after sending out texts that were critical of Donald Trump.

“Mueller has been using the FBI as a political weapon,” Jarrett assumed.

And then Jarrett made a stunning declaration:

“The FBI has become America’s secret police. Secret surveillance, wiretapping, intimidation, harassment, and threats. It’s like the old KGB that comes for you in the dark of night, banging through your door.”

Hannity replied, “And by the way, this is not a game. “This is not hyperbole you’re using here.”

Jarrett then said, “Ask Paul Manafort. They came for him, and broke through his front door in the dark of night.”

“And if it happened to him, Gregg —” Hannity said.

“It can happen to all of us,” Jarrett warned. “The FBI is a shadow government now.”

It’s no secret that Republicans are panicked as Mueller closes in on what really happened between the Trump campaign and the Russians in 2016; and it appears they will stop at nothing to discredit Mueller and his team.

Former Illinois GOP Rep. Joe Walsh is a pro-Trump supporter and even he was critical of the Republican attempt to smear Mueller and tweeted:
