According to a New York Daily News source, former White House staffer and reality star Omarosa Manigault Newman secretly taped private conversations during her time working as a Trump aide, and she now fears special counsel Robert Mueller wants to interview her about Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election.
The publication reported that former “Apprentice” star Omarosa has been hiring lawyers because she anticipates being called as a witness in Mueller’s probe.
“Everyone knows Omarosa loves to record people and meetings using the voice notes app on her iPhone,” the source said. “Don’t be surprised if she has secret audio files on everyone in that White House, past and present staffers included.”
The same source said the recent decision to ban White House staffers from using their personal cell phones was a direct result of Omarosa’s practice of recording confidential conversations in the West Wing.
Since her White House departure last year, Omarosa has suggested she has the ability to release damaging Trump administration bombshells.
The Daily News also reported that a “White House insider balked at the idea of Manigault-Newman being privy to any inside information that could be relevant to Mueller’s probe — or of interest to anyone else for that matter.”
The White House and Manigault-Newman did not respond to requests from the Daily News for comment.
