Donald Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, appeared on Sunday morning talk shows, and he urged the president’s former lawyer and “fixer” Michael Cohen to “tell the truth.” Cohen seems to be ready to do just that!
CNN reported that two sources who are familiar with Cohen’s line of thinking say he’s “hit the reset button” and that Trump’s longtime “fixer” is ready to speak the truth.
During the Sunday morning appearances, Giuliani encouraged Michael Cohen to tell the truth about what he knows regarding Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and Donald Trump Jr.’s involvement with the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting with a Russian lawyer connected to Putin.
During his appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Giuliani said, “I do not expect that Michael Cohen is going to lie. I think he’s going to tell the truth, as best he can, given his recollection, and if he does that, we’re home-free.”
On Monday, Giuliani sent a text to CNN reporters saying, “The truth will set you free,” Giuliani texted. “The President did nothing wrong with Michael Cohen. Everything has been a dead-end because there is nothing there.”
Cohen’s lawyer, Lanny Davis – who happens to be a former Clinton White House attorney – tweeted, “Did Rudy Giuliani really say on Sunday shows that Michael Cohen should cooperate with prosecutors and tell the truth? Seriously? Is that Trump and Giuliani definition of ‘truth’? Trump/Giuliani next to the word ‘truth’ = oxymoron. Stay tuned.”

In late June, comedian Tom Arnold tweeted a photo of him and Cohen with the caption, I love New York,” which Cohen retweeted.
Arnold, who is working on a show for Vice in which he’s searching for incriminating videos of Trump — told NBC News that he and Cohen met, and said
“This dude has all the tapes — this dude has everything. I say to Michael, ‘Guess what? We’re taking Trump down together,’ and he’s so tired he’s like, ‘OK,’ and his wife is like, ‘OK, f*** Trump.’”
The source connected to Cohen’s thinking told CNN, “If you link them all together, you can see that Cohen is not anyone’s punching bag. He is exercising his discretion to send a direct message between the eyes to the President of the United States. The same source also said he was “no longer taking a bullet for you [Trump’], no longer a flunky.”
