“If they find it, they’ll play with it. So always lock up your guns.”
The advocacy group, Evolve, has released an ad featuring two young boys having a sword-fight with mom’s adult toys to stress the importance of keeping guns locked up in a secure place.
The ad does a fantastic job of using humor to make a serious and important point. Kids will find anything and everything – including firearms.
Evolve was founded shortly after the Sandy Hook shootings where 28 people died, including the shooter, Adam Lanza.
The group doesn’t side and any specific legislative agenda. Their goal is to reduce gun violence by urging gun owners to us common sense.
Part of Evolve’s “Code” reads:
“I believe that owning a gun is not just a right, it’s a responsibility,” and “I will talk to my kids about the fact there are guns in our home and those guns will be properly stored.”
