Donald Trump Retweets Photo Of A Murderer

Trump-Tweet-WTF

Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump is at it again – this time being duped into retweeting a photo of a murderer serving three life sentences.

Trump has been embroiled in controversy since criticizing the war record of former Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

It seems that Trump mistakenly believed the tweet was from the son of a Vietnam veteran when, in fact, it was an old black and white photograph of Jeffrey McDonald. A former Special Forces Green Beret officer, McDonald was convicted in 1979 for the murders of his pregnant wife and two daughters in February 1970.

Other Twitter users, such as CNN senior political reporter Chris Moody were quick to point out the real identity of the soldier in the photograph, tweeting:

Mr. , that is a photo of Jeffrey MacDonald, a convicted murderer.

As The Guardian reported, this is not the first time Trump has been duped into retweeting a photograph of killers.

In September last year, Trump was sent a photo of a couple by a Twitter user with the message: “My parents who passed away always said you were a big inspiration. Can you please RT for their memory?”

As it turned out, the photograph was of the “notorious British serial killers Fred and Rose West.”
