Martin Bashir slams Ryan for sending Americans to war based on lies

MSNBC’s Martin Bashir slams Paul Ryan for saying he has more foreign policy experience than Obama did as a candidate back in 2008. Basher starts with Paul Ryan’s claim that

“I’ve had to vote to send men and women to war on more than one occasion. I’ve been to those funerals. Obviously I have a lot more experience than Barack Obama did when he became president” and then moved in for the kill:

“Do you expect us to believe in your foreign policy credentials because you, on the basis of bogus intelligence about non-existent weapons of mass destruction, had the strength of character to send American men and women into Iraq where almost 5,000 coalition forces lost their lives and that makes you more qualified than the current president?

You know, the last time I checked, President Obama actually had the wisdom to oppose the invasion of Iraq and he promised and delivered the withdrawl of troops as quickly as he could.

You know, if anything, Mr. Ryan’s comments actually prove the point his knowledge of foreign affairs is about as useful as a bowtie in a battlefield. And given his apparent love for Winston Churchill, he might consider some words that Churchill wrote in the fourth volume of his history of the Second World War, ‘Any clever person can make plans for winning a war if he has no responsibility for carrying them out.'”
