WATCH: This Incredible Thunderstorm Time Lapse

A supercell thunderstorm was captured on video in Wyoming by Basehunters Chasing, “storm chasing team originally based in Norman, OK,” as noted on their Facebook page. Basehunters was founded in 2011 by storm chasers Colt Forney, Kevin Rolfs, Scott Peake, and Isaac Pato “to share their chase photography and videography with the world.”

They elaborate on their Twitter page writing: “We are committed to capturing the most unique and close-up tornado footage on the market. “

The Washington Post aptly describes the video, writing:

Fledgling low pressure forming downwind of the Rockies  spun up a towering thunderstorm so imposing that the footage almost seems fake – as if from a sci-fi movie or another planet.

Spectacular cannot even describe the time lapse video from this spinning supercell storm that blossomed in eastern Wyoming Sunday evening, near Newcastle.
