In another clear example of Romney’s lack of clarity regarding foreign policy, he managed to demonstrate a complete grasp of geography last night stating that “Syria is Iran’s only ally in the Arab world. It’s their route to the sea”. As one can clearly see from the map below, Iran borders two seas – the Caspian and Arabian Seas and both Turkey and Iraq stand in-between the two countries.
