Fox News Commentator and Republican “Spin Doctor” Mike Huckabee is out in full force today trying to downplay Joe Biden’s obvious slam-dunk of Paul Ryan during last night’s vice-presidential debate.
On Imus in the Morning on FoxBusiness.com Huckabee, the former Republican Governor of Arkansas, started his attack by referring to the Vice President as an ass. [see above]
“I’m not sure if I was watching Joe Biden or Woody Woodpecker. I mean my gosh. I tell you what I did realize: when I was in Sunday school as a little kid, we heard the story of how God had a miracle. He made an ass speak and last night we saw it again. There are still miracles going on.”
He went on to compare him to a drunk and to say he believed that Biden frightens women.
He also appeared on Fox News where he compared the Vice President to someone drunk at a cocktail party which is bit odd considering that Biden has openly discussed his family’s problems with alcohol and is a well-known teetotaler.
“I thought that Joe Biden came across as a guy that you meet at a cocktail party or some political event, an obnoxious drunk who is loud and boisterous and interrupts every conversation. He is just the kind of guy you want to get away from as quickly as you can and find someone else to talk to. It was just boorish behavior for the first half. I think at some point during the debate, he took Ritalin and he started calming down in the end. But it is not the kind of thing that is very helpful to Joe Biden and his image with voters in the heartland of America who are taught to be polite. And he just wasn’t.”
