Inflammatory Anti-Woman Sign Ignites University of Arizona Campus (VIDEO)

The, Arizona Daily Wildcat, an independent news organization serving the University of Arizona since 1899, is reporting on a student who was preaching on the University of Arizona campus while holding a sign degrading women.

It seems that a junior studying classics and religious studies regularly preaches on the campus in front of the Administration Building and this Tuesday, Brother Dean Saxton (left), was there again preaching about rape. Josh Solomon (center), a computer science sophomore, as well as Gregor Orbino (right), a political science junior, serve as counterpoints.

As reported by the Daily Wildcat, the university has yet to do anything about the situation due to concerns regarding his first amendment rights:

The Dean of Students Office received stacks of written complaints, emails and multiple phone calls regarding Saxton’s sermon about women, said Kendal Washington White, interim dean of students.

Saxton has never directly threatened anyone in particular, and his language has been general enough that he isn’t targeting a particular person, White said. However, a university attorney was contacted to discuss the situation.

“We find it to be vulgar and vile,” White said. “However, it is protected speech. He has yet to, at this point, violate the student code of conduct.”

As a means of counter-protest, another student has put together a video for YouTube about Brother Dean and his hateful tactics:
