Under presssure from the NRA, the U.S. Senate just voted against a bipartisan bill to expand background checks – a bill that 91 percent of all Americans support.
The bill required 60 votes to pass, and failed with 54 yes votes and 46 no votes.
If your Senator voted against the will of 91% of Americans, then CALL, EMAIL, etc. They need to hear from you!
You can go here for information on how to contact your Senator: http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml or here: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm.
Here are the 46 Senators who voted against the bill and it should be noted Harry Reid’s “no” vote was procedural so he can bring the bill back for another vote.
