The recent rescue of 3 women in Cleveland by Charles Ramsey is a huge victory over domestic abuse.
In many interviews you can now view online with Ramsey, he consistently states that when he observed the victim struggling to get out of the house he assumed that it was a case of domestic abuse but he acted anyway – knowing that abuse of any kind is not acceptable.
It’s taken a generation of struggle to get people to understand that domestic violence is not simply something you ignore or walk past and the actions by Ramsey unquestionably saved the women from continued confinement – possibly for years.
Chris Hayes talks with syndicated columnist Connie Schultz, Irin Carmon of Salon, and Feministing writer Eesha Pandit about the latest developments out of Cleveland, and about how violence against women affects society.
