BREAKING: Jury Reaches Verdict in Jodi Arias Murder Trial

Arias-Verdict

The jury has found Jodi Arias guilty of murdering her one-time boyfriend in Arizona after a lengthy trial which began on January 2, 2013.

Arias, 32, was charged with first-degree murder in the 2008 death of Travis Alexander but could have been found guilty of second-degree murder if the jury didn’t believe she planned the killing and also faced a possible conviction for manslaughter if the jury believed Arias didn’t plan the killing in advance and the attack occurred in the heat of passion after “adequate” provocation from Alexander.

Having been found guilty of first-degree murder, Arias faces life in prison – potentially even the death penalty – as the jury found her guilty of premeditated first-degree murder. She faced 10 to 22 years if convicted of second-degree murder or 7 to 21 years for manslaughter.
