Shocking video of a police helicopter in Rio firing a machine gun on a drug trafficker driving through a poor neighborhood has just been released.
Brazilian police in Rio de Janeiro have been forced to admit to using excessive force after this incident which occurred in May of last year.
In the Brazilian state of Rio, over 500 civilians have been killed a year in recent years as the result of police operations such as this. In the video, one can clearly see a pedestrian, a motorcyclist and someone on a bicycle – all in the line of fire.
