A Maryland teen in need of a heart transplant, unknowingly received the heart of a childhood friend who was killed by a hit-and-run driver earlier this year.
When 15-year-old Skylar Marion was killed by a hit-and-run driver in mid-April, no one expected that a part of him would live on in a childhood friend, another 15-year-old who needed a heart.
“He lives on within somebody else, but that somebody else I didn’t even know I already knew. They said he’d been at my house before,” said Skylar’s dad, Michael Marion.
