Ohio State University’s E. Gordon Gee is apologizing to several schools offended by his remarks were captured on tape about Notre Dame, Roman Catholics, the Southeastern Conference and even Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delaney. ANnd at the same time, many are saying E. Gordon Gee’s comments aren’t the most offensive thing about him and his kind, that the Ohio State president’s monetary motivation and love of the status quo are the real problems.
Here is one of the most offensive remarks followed by a report on the controversy:
“The fathers are holy on Sunday and they’re holy hell the rest of the week and, uh, you know, you just can’t trust those damned Catholics on, uh, a Thursday or Friday.”
