How do I turn off notification sounds?
To turn off notification sounds, go to your notifications settings and uncheck the box next to Play a sound when each new notification is received:
- Click
in the upper-right corner of any page on Facebook and select Account Settings - Click Notifications in the left column
- Find the How you get notifications section
- Click View next to On Facebook
- Uncheck the box next to Play a sound when each new notification is received
- Click Save Changes
This setting only applies to notification sounds when you’re using Facebook on your computer and doesn’t affect notification sounds on your phone or tablet. When notification sounds are turned on, you’ll hear an alert through your computer’s speakers when someone likes or comments on your posts, or posts on your timeline.
