Passenger's Harrowing Footage Of Fatal Plane Crash

Frightening footage showing the moment a small plane crashed in Hawaii was released this week.

The footage, obtained by ABC News, shows the moment of impact in the ocean.  The video was taken by a passenger on the plane who started filming just moments before the plane had to make an emergency landing in the ocean. The crash occurred after one of the engines failed on the 2002 Cessna Grand Caravan.

There were 9 people onboard, including the pilot, with only one casualty – a state health official named Loretty Fuddy. aged 65. Fuddy was the individual responsible for releasing President Obama’s long form birth certificate.

The Daily Mail reports that Fuddy made it off the plane and into a life jacket.

In the water, Fuddy held hands with her deputy director Keith Yamamoto as he tried to help her relax, said the Rev. Patrick Killilea, who consoled Yamamoto after the ordeal.

‘He recounted how he said he helped Loretta into her life jacket and he held her hand for some time,’ the priest said. ‘They were all floating together and she let go and there was no response from her.’
