MoveOn.org Civic Action is running this TV ad in Louisiana to hold Governor Bobby Jindal accountable for standing between 242,000 of his state’s citizens and Medicaid.
The ad, funded by MoveOn members, was created after Louisiana’s Republican lieutenant governor sent MoveOn a cease-and-desist letter demanding that it take down a billboard criticizing Governor Jindal on the same issue.
MoveOn reports that:
Last week, Louisiana Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne sent MoveOn.org Civic Action a cease-and-desist letter claiming that the group’s new billboard, which calls on Governor Bobby Jindal to expand Medicaid to 242,000 Louisianans, was tarnishing Louisiana’s award-winning tourism slogan, “Pick Your Passion.”
MoveOn is refusing the take down the billboard, and is instead doubling down on the campaign by releasing a new TV ad that holds Gov. Jindal accountable for opposing Medicaid expansion and rejecting more than a billion dollars a year in federal funds for the program.
