This Flashback Friday clip from “The View” takes us back to June 20, 2009 when Glenn Beck found himself confronted by angry co-hosts Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg.
In the clip, Walters and Goldberg tear into Beck for lying about an encounter on a train while they were all on the way to the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner. A fan of “The View” had sent in a clip from Glenn back wherein he lied about the encounter and both co-hosts let him have it.
The confrontation peaked with Goldberg calling Beck a “LYING SACK OF DOG MESS.”
BECK: “You’re accusing me of lying. Let me tell you…”
GOLDBERG: “You did lie. What do you mean I accused you? You just sat there and you’re a lying sack of dog mess.”
Walters went on to tear into Beck for claiming to be a reporter, yet not bothering to care about his facts. Beck countered that he was not a reporter, rather he was a “commentator” telling Walters “I commentate on life.”
WALTERS: “You are an investigative reporter.”
BECK: “No, I’m not.
WALTERS: “Okay, you’re a reporter.”
WALTERS: “So you check no facts at all.
BECK: No. I am a commentator. I am a commentator. I commentate on life.”
