Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) had a war of words on Wednesday while discussing Speaker John Boehner’s decision to file a law suit against President Obama for his use of executive actions.
The problems between the two began with Cavuto questioning Bachmann about the timing of the proposed lawsuit, stating:
“You’ve been bemoaning it for a long time. Why now the suit? Why not just fix things that are very, very wrong now rather than dragging someone to court over whether they overstepped their bounds? It just seems to me like an enormous waste of effort.”
Bachmann conceded that the suit would take months, adding that it might not even be heard by a court that it could be turned away as being political in nature.
The shouting match began at about the 3 minute mark in the interview when Cavuto accused Bachmann of “conflating issues” and “being silly” when she suggested defunding the executive branch to strip its power.
At this point Cavuto lost his cool, shouting: “Wait, think about what you’re saying! Defund the executive branch, congresswoman! I think Democrats will be in their right mind to laugh you out now.”
