‘You Willfully Ignorant F*cksticks’ – CNN Anchor Slams Fox Nation

Fox-Nation

CNN anchor Bill Weir is creating quite a stir over a tweet he made calling Fox Nation “willfully ignorant f*cksticks.” (Fox Nation is a news website operated by the Fox News that began operation in 2009.)

The tweet was in response to a story on Fox Nation entitled “Climate Doesn’t Cooperate With Al Gore’s Group’s Visit to Denver EPA Hearings.

The story linked to another one on the notoriously conservative site, The Washington Times, which was founded in 1982 by the founder of the Unification Church, Sun Myung Moon, as a response to what he perceived as the liberalism of The Washington Post.

The story was about Al Gore’s trip to Denver on behalf of his Climate Reality Project. The story was intended to mock the idea of climate change by highlighting the fact that it was only 58 degrees out, but Gore’s people were passing out ice cream to people.

The Daily Bantor reports:

The item concerned Gore’s trip on behalf of his “Climate Reality Project,” and highlighted how the group was handing out ice cream to people even though it was only 58 degrees out. This is exactly the kind of thing the people who gather at Fox Nation love to childishly point and laugh at, claiming that cooler summer temperatures in one city a mile above sea level proves that global climate change is bullshit.

Weir responded on his CNN Twitter account Wednesday night:

Weir did end up apologizing, as expected. However, as you can see in his tweet below, he apologized for his language and not the sentiment expressed in his earlier tweet.
