Berkeley In The 1960s? Nope, Berkeley 2014 #BerkeleyProtests

Protests over police killings has turned violent in Berkeley, California, resulting in injury to three police officers and the arrest of six individuals.

Inside Bay Area reports that area police are reporting that five adults and one juvenile were arrested on Sunday on unspecified charges. Police officials also report that at least one officer was hospitalized and three others were struck by bricks, to include a crime scene technician.

According to SF Gate, police resorted to using tear gas on demonstrators late Saturday night “after more than five hours of marching and confrontations” by about 400 protesters who eventually “squared off against hundreds of police” from multiple jurisdictions just south of the UC Berkeley campus.

Take a look at some of the tweets from this weekend, below, and tell me they don’t remind you of Berkeley back in the 1960s.
